KMC COMMUNITY, INC. ("KMC Group" or the "Company") is hiring an Associate Legal Counsel to be part of our growing Legal and Compliance team. The role encompasses various legal matters involving the KMC Group, including, but not limited to, civil and labor cases.The successful candidate will also be responsible for handling visa and immigration matters, including direct engagements with the Bureau of Immigration ("BI"), the Philippine Retirement Authority ("PRA"), the Department of Labor and Employment ("DOLE"), and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority ("PEZA"). The role further extends to core corporate legal functions, including contract review, corporate housekeeping, and such other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time. The main responsibilities of a ASSOCIATE LEGAL COUNSEL include:

  • Handling civil, labor, collection, demand, and other material cases/matters involving the company, from initial assessment through resolution.
  • Managing the company's labor relations concerns, including employee disputes, disciplinary matters, and compliance with labor standards.
  • Overseeing visa and immigration processes for foreign employees and stakeholders, including applications, renewals, and compliance requirements.
  • Providing support and assistance in the company's engagements with the BI, PRA, DOLE, and PEZA.
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Handling incorporation of new entities and corporate housekeeping matters, including maintenance of corporate records, filings, and other statutory requirements.
  • Providing legal advice and support on matters of corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory affairs.
  • Performing such other legal and corporate support functions as may be assigned from time to time.

To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:

  • A member of the Philippine Bar in good standing.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of relevant legal experience post-admission to the Bar.
  • Demonstrated experience handling civil, labor, and litigation matters.
  • Strong working knowledge of Philippine labor laws and experience managing labor relations or disputes.
  • In-depth experience with visa and immigration laws, with established engagements with BI, PRA, DOLE, and PEZA.
  • Proficiency in contract review, drafting, and negotiation.
  • Experience with incorporation and corporate housekeeping requirements.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently and adapt to shifting priorities.

It will also be favorable if you are knowledgeable in:

  • Corporate governance and compliance across multiple entities or jurisdictions.
  • Incorporation and corporate housekeeping requirements for local and foreign entities.
  • Regulatory or tax matters affecting PEZA-registered or BPO/IT-BPM companies.
  • Handling cross-border or multi-entity legal and compliance issues.
  • Experience working with government agencies beyond BI, PRA, DOLE, and PEZA, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") or the Bureau of Internal Revenue ("BIR").
