The main responsibilities of a DENTAL BILLING TRAINING COORDINATOR include:

CONTENT & CURRICULUM SUPPORT (30%)
Support development of micro-modules covering payer updates, claim denials,
secondary insurance workflows, and code-specific pitfalls
Recommend updates based on industry trends, learner performance, and clinic needs
EVALUATION & PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT (20%)
Conduct Skills Evaluation Interviews (SEIs) to assess accuracy, billing judgment, and
system familiarity
Track learner progress via Salesforce, TalentLMS, and dental billing-specific checklists
Lead recovery training sessions for cancelled VAs re-entering the system, based on
gaps in skills or billing quality
Deliver structured feedback and escalate retraining needs as required
INSTRUCTION & TRAINING DELIVERY (20%)
Teach core dental billing workflows including insurance verification, CDT/ICD
code usage, claim submission, EOB review, and denial handling
Lead live and recorded training sessions focused on payer logic, dental billing
sequencing, documentation, and audit-readiness
Facilitate mock dental billing scenarios (case studies) to strengthen learner
understanding of payer rules, code matching, and submission strategy
LEARNER SUPPORT & TECHNICAL GUIDANCE (15%)
Respond to learner questions on CDT codes, dental billing sequences, payer
protocols, and documentation
Offer practical advice on tone and accuracy in billing notes and patient-facing
communication
Identify common misunderstandings and coordinate content updates with the
SME Lead
COMPLIANCE & DOCUMENTATION (15%)
Reinforce HIPAA compliance and billing documentation standards across all
content and training simulations
Teach accurate claim documentation, patient ledger handling, and coordination
between billing and front office notes

To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:

Minimum 3 years of dental billing experience in a U.S.-based dental
setting, including hands-on insurance coordination and claim workflows
SME-level knowledge of CDT codes, EOB interpretation, AR
follow-up, appeals, U.S. dental software, and compliance standards
Confident in leading live training sessions, SEIs, and mock scenario
walkthroughs. Clear, professional communication skills for leading group
and one-on-one instruction
Must have experience in supporting the onboarding or upskilling of VAs,
front desk staff, or billing teams, including prior experience training or
onboarding others on dental billing systems and workflows
Familiarity with U.S. dental practice management software
(e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft)
Familiarity with HIPAA, ledger accuracy, and audit-readiness protocols
Working knowledge of tools like TalentLMS, Canva, and Salesforce
Experience supporting both billing & clinical coordination tasks is a plus
