KMC Solutions is hiring a Mid to Senior General Ledger Accountant, based in the Philippines, to join the finance team at our client, Sigma Computing, supporting the US team alongside their existing US-based General Ledger Team to help balance workload and broaden coverage across the general ledger function. The scope covers core, foundational GL work, and the ideal candidate is an experienced accountant who can own it independently from day one. This is not an entry-level position. The role reports to Sigma's Accounting Manager, based in the US.

The main responsibilities of a GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTANT include:

  • Core General Ledger: Own day-to-day general ledger activities, including journal entries, prepaids, and account reconciliations. 
  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Perform close-cycle activities, ensuring GL entries are accurate, complete, and posted on schedule. 
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. 
  • Chart of Accounts: Ensure consistent, accurate GL coding across entities. 
  • Workload Balancing with US GL team: Partner closely with the existing US-based General Ledger Accounting team to divide and share ongoing GL workload, standardize processes and documentation across both team members, and provide backup coverage during leave or peak periods. 
  • Fixed Assets: Support fixed asset accounting, including depreciation/amortization schedules and routine GL maintenance. 
  • Employee Reimbursements: Manage employee expense reimbursements using Ramp Expenses, including reviewing submissions for policy compliance and ensuring accurate, timely processing. 
  • Audit Support: Prepare documentation and account analysis in response to internal and external audit requests.

To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • 4+ years of general ledger / general accounting experience. 
  • Solid grasp of core GL fundamentals: journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, and accruals. 
  • Experience with NetSuite, or a comparable cloud ERP, strongly preferred; experience with Ramp or a similar expense management platform is a plus.  
  • Advanced Excel skills required. 
  • Comfortable collaborating with a distributed, multi-region finance team (US and Philippines). 
  • Strong attention to detail and sound understanding of accounting standards relevant to the client's reporting requirements (e.g., US GAAP or IFRS). 
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines with minimal supervision. 

It will also be favorable if you are knowledgeable in:

  • Additional relevant knowledge or experience related to the above requirements will be considered an advantage.
