The Network Firewall Engineer is responsible for configuring, validating, documenting, and supporting remote deployment of firewall and networking solutions. The role supports both replacement (RMA) activities and new customer site implementations through standardized templates and automated deployment processes.
The engineer will work closely with internal engineering, logistics, support, and operations teams to ensure accurate configuration and deployment of firewall solutions while maintaining quality standards and documentation requirements.
This position is highly technical and requires experience with networking technologies, Linux systems, firewall administration, basic automation scripting, and troubleshooting network connectivity issues.

The main responsibilities of a NETWORK FIREWALL ENGINEER include:
Firewall & Network Configuration

Configure and validate firewall devices using approved templates and deployment standards.

Configure and validate WAN, LAN, VPN, routing, switching, and security settings.

Review and validate firmware versions, licenses, certificates, and cloud enrollments.

Perform quality checks before deployment and shipment.
Linux Administration & Automation
-
Execute Linux-based commands for device validation and troubleshooting.
-
Run and validate Python-based scripts used in automated deployment processes.
-
Perform connectivity testing and log reviews.
-
Troubleshoot Linux server-related deployment issues.
-
Support automation initiatives that improve deployment efficiency.
Deployment & Operational Support

Support RMA replacement activities.
-
Configure new customer locations using standardized deployment templates.
-
Handle occasional custom firewall configurations.
-
Maintain assigned workloads independently in a remote environment.

Process volume-based configuration requests and deployment activities.
Troubleshooting & Documentation

Diagnose hardware, software, connectivity, and configuration issues.

Escalate complex issues to internal engineering teams when necessary.

Create clear documentation related to:

Troubleshooting findings

Deployment records

Maintain accurate records of serial numbers, MAC addresses, firmware information, and test results.
Continuous Improvement

Participate in knowledge sharing and technical documentation updates.

Support training and mentoring of junior team members when required.

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

5+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Network Support, Firewall Administration, NOC Operations, or related roles.

Hands-on experience configuring firewall solutions.

Strong knowledge of:

Experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
