The main responsibilities of a PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT include:
- Prepare accurate payroll journals and accruals, ensuring compliance with financial policies and standards.
- Reconcile payroll clearing accounts to maintain financial integrity and prepare for audits.
- Review and validate payroll accounting outputs and postings to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Support and enhance interfaces and integrations with external payroll providers.
- Calculate and reconcile provisions for annual and long service leave, superannuation, and other employee liabilities.
- Manage and maintain detailed reconciliations for employee benefits and payroll liabilities.
- Develop and oversee personnel budgeting and forecasting models, adjusting forecasts based on strategic company changes.
- Analyze salary and staffing variances to provide insights into workforce cost management.
- Facilitate the payroll approval process and monitor payroll changes in collaboration with HR teams.
- Process and manage payroll recharges and staff movement cost allocations across different company entities.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of intercompany payroll balances.
- Liaise with executive payroll providers and maintain robust accounting records for executive payroll.
- Uphold strict compliance with payroll-related auditing and legal requirements.
