The SAP Project Manager will be part of the Digital Solutions team, reporting to the Head of Enterprise Applications and working closely with the Henka Programme Manager. This is an individual-contributor role with end-to-end responsibility for planning and driving SAP projects and workstreams in a global environment. The role does not have direct people-management responsibility; instead, it leads delivery through coordination and collaboration with GC’s global SAP team, Digital Solutions colleagues, Business Process Experts (BPEs), end users, external contractors, SAP implementation partners and SAP.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of SAP projects, implementations, rollouts, upgrades and related initiatives across global teams.
- Own project plans, scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and status reporting; proactively escalate delivery risks and recommend mitigation plans.
- Coordinate SAP project activities across design, build, testing, data migration, deployment, go-live cutover and post-go-live support.
- Work with Business Process Experts and business stakeholders to understand business needs, map processes, assess requirements and translate them into SAP solutions and project deliverables.
- Coordinate internal SAP specialists, Digital Solutions colleagues, external contractors and implementation partners to keep project workstreams aligned and on schedule.
- Act as a key point of contact for business stakeholders on SAP project matters, including requirements, progress, decisions, issues and change requests.
- Manage project-level communication, stakeholder alignment, decision tracking and governance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate the resolution of project-related incidents, defects and change requests, ensuring clear ownership, prioritization and follow-through.
- Support SAP change and release management activities, including planning and coordination of releases, upgrades and deployments.
- Oversee the preparation and review of Functional Requirements Specifications, business process documentation and flows, and functional and technical specifications.
- Coordinate test strategy and execution, test scripts, defect tracking, user training materials and end-user readiness activities.
- Support data migration planning and execution for SAP S/4HANA, including cutover planning, go-live readiness and post-implementation stabilization.
- Work within the SAP Activate methodology and apply appropriate project management practices, such as PRINCE2 or PMI-based approaches.
- Collaborate with the Henka AMS team, SAP Basis team, MDM team and other relevant stakeholders to manage dependencies and ensure continuity of SAP services.
- Contribute hands-on SAP expertise and provide functional or technical support when required to help resolve project delivery challenges.

To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:
- Degree in ICT, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 7 years of professional SAP experience, including experience delivering SAP projects in a complex, global corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of business processes across Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse Management, Manufacturing and Quality Management.
- At least 3 years of experience with SAP S/4HANA.
- Broad SAP module knowledge, ideally across FI/CO, SD, MM, WM or EWM, PP, PM, QM and HR; the original role profile indicates approximately 7 years of experience across these modules.
- At least 3 years of SAP ABAP development experience, with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams and assess technical implications.
- Experience with SAP integrations, warehouse automation, SAP change management, SAP release management and SAP Solution Manager.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including project planning, requirements analysis, business process mapping, dependency management and stakeholder communication.
- Experience with project management methodologies such as SAP Activate, PRINCE2 or PMI-based approaches.
- Experience creating or coordinating Functional Requirements Specifications, business process documentation and flows, and functional and technical specifications
- Experience across SAP solution design, build and implementation, including testing, test-script preparation, training materials and end-user training or support.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA data migration, go-live cutover activities and post-go-live support.
- Experience supporting international organizations and global SAP implementations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Service-oriented, project-focused, results-driven and adaptable, with the ability to work independently in a changing environment.
- Experience working with multicultural, geographically distributed teams.
- Comfortable working primarily remotely and willing to travel internationally when required.
- Excellent written and spoken English, including the ability to prepare clear project documentation and presentations.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills.
