We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Senior Accountant to join our client’s growing accounting team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, and takes ownership of critical month-end close activities.

Reporting directly to the Accounting Senior Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with US GAAP, and supporting high-impact accounting initiatives. You will be responsible for complex accrual accounting, cash management, reconciliations, audit support, and cross-functional business partnering while helping drive process improvements across the organization.

This position provides exposure to operational accounting, treasury accounting, external audits, M&A integration activities, and future IPO-readiness initiatives.

The main responsibilities of a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT include:

Accrual Accounting & Month-End Close

  • Own the end-to-end accounting and month-end close processes for:
    • Legal accruals
    • Litigation accruals
    • Sales & Marketing (S&M) accruals
  • Assess vendor’s estimates and determine appropriate accruals for expenses incurred but not yet invoiced.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Sales & Marketing, Procurement, Budget Owners, and other stakeholders to validate accrual assumptions and support documentation.
  • Analyze vendor contracts, purchase orders, purchase requests, actual spend, and budget estimates to ensure accurate expense recognition.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all accounting records are complete, accurate, and compliant with US GAAP.

Cash Management & Treasury Accounting

  • Own cash matching and cash reconciliation activities.
  • Review and reconcile company cash transactions, ensuring all incoming and outgoing transactions are properly recorded.
  • Support operational treasury accounting, including investment-related accounting entries and reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies in a timely manner.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform variance analysis (Month-over-Month, Quarter-over-Quarter, and Year-over-Year).
  • Explain financial fluctuations and identify key drivers behind balance movements.
  • Support management reporting and provide insights into accounting trends and operational performance.
  • Assist in preparing schedules and reports required for board and management reporting.

Audit & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary accounting contact for assigned audit workstreams.
  • Support external auditors by providing schedules, reconciliations, and audit documentation.
  • Ensure all assigned accounting areas are audit-ready and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Assist with annual financial statement audits and reporting requirements.

Process Improvement & Special Projects

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and accounting efficiencies.
  • Recommend enhancements to existing accounting workflows and controls.
  • Participate in acquisition-related accounting activities and onboard newly acquired entities into existing accounting processes.
  • Support future initiatives related to M&A, audit readiness, and IPO readiness.
  • Assist with technical accounting matters including lease accounting and other ad hoc projects when needed.

To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Philippines) is highly preferred but not mandatory
  • Minimum of 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong experience in:
    • Accrual accounting
    • General ledger accounting
    • Month-end close
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
    • Cash management and cash reconciliations
    • Financial Statement Analysis
  • Hands-on experience working under US GAAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

It will also be favorable if you are knowledgeable in:

  • Experience handling:
    • Legal accruals
    • Litigation accruals
    • Sales & Marketing accruals
  • Exposure to treasury accounting and investment accounting.
  • Experience supporting external audits.
  • Background in lease accounting, debt accounting, or technical accounting.
  • Experience in multinational, shared services, BPO, or US-based accounting environments.
  • Experience using Oracle Cloud ERP.
  • Experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle EBS, or similar ERP platforms.
  • Familiarity with FloQast, Zip, Onit, or similar accounting and procurement systems.
