SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (HO) - TEAM LEAD (PRIO)

The primary function of this role is to oversee the financial operations and ensure accounting accuracy for the Head Office entities and their global church activities. This position involves managing the accounting processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting the coordination of a geographically dispersed accounting team.

• Oversee the preparation and accurate reporting of financial statements in accordance with accounting principles and government regulations.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures in financial reporting and operations.
• Coordinate and manage the workload of remote accounting teams to ensure timely execution of financial tasks.
• Develop and implement systems and processes to streamline financial operations and enhance reporting accuracy.
• Provide leadership and support to accounting staff, fostering an environment of learning and growth.
• Collaborate with senior management to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial regulations and best practices.
  o   Provide day-to-day support and guidance to remote accountants.
  o   Assist with allocation and balancing of workloads across accounting staff.
  o   Monitor completion of month-end and year-end deliverables.
  o   Support consistency of accounting processes and reporting standards.
  o   Assist with onboarding and training of accounting team members.
  o   Escalate workload, resource and process issues to the Finance Manager.
  o   Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the accounting team.
  o   Maintain general ledger, including cash, balance sheet and intercompany transactions.
  o   Complete monthly close activities.
  o   Prepare journals, accruals and reconciliations.
  o   Maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation.
  o   Manage shared services allocations and recharges, collaborating with AP and AR for accurate records.
  o   Maintain fixed asset registers, process depreciation and fixed asset reconciliations.

• Strong expertise in financial accounting and reporting standards (IFRS/US GAAP).
• Proven experience in managing and overseeing a finance department.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficient in using major accounting software and financial management tools.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  Commercial experience
  Experience in global operations / international environments
  Proficiency in Xero and/or QuickBooks
  Sage  experience – preferred
  People management experience
  Knowledge of US GAAP – preferred
  At least 5 years of relevant experience
  Minimum 2 years of people management experience

• Experience working with non-profit or religious organizations is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with remote team management tools and techniques.
• Advanced certification in accounting or finance (CPA, CMA, etc.) is a plus.
• Ability to speak multiple languages can be advantageous in a global setting.
