This role is responsible for designing, building, and scaling the backend systems and APIs that power GRG Health's AI-driven healthcare and life sciences platforms. The Senior Backend Engineer owns end-to-end backend architecture, ensures reliability and performance at scale, and mentors engineers across the team.

The main responsibilities of a SENIOR BACKEND ENGINEER (PYTHON). include:
• Architect, build, and scale backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL data models across PostgreSQL and MongoDB
• Build secure, high-performance RESTful APIs for data-intensive and AI-driven services
• Implement authentication, authorization, caching, and performance best practices
• Ensure reliability, scalability, observability, and high availability of production systems
• Lead code reviews, enforce engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers
• Collaborate with frontend, AI, data, and product teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments on AWS
To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:
.• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience with Python
• Strong expertise in FastAPI and REST API design
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including schema design and performance tuning
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and cloud-native deployments
• Experience with caching, message queues, and asynchronous processing
• Familiarity with AI-driven or data-intensive production platforms
• Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills
