The main responsibilities of a SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT include:

  • Preparation and lodgement of tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and self managed super funds.
  • Preparation of financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and self managed super funds.
  • Preparation of Activity Statements for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and self managed super funds to report for GST, PAYG Withheld and PAYG Instalments.
  • Proficient on Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks
  • Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents.
  • Manages the payroll process.
  • Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential

To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:

  • Knowledge of Australian Tax Law, GST, AIS, and BAS    .   
  • Experience in Xero
  • MYOB
  • Quickbooks       

It will also be favorable if you are knowledgeable in:

  • Certified Public Accountant license
