The main responsibilities of a US PAYROLL SPECIALIST include:
- Processing Payroll: Calculate and process payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintaining Records: Keep detailed records of employee hours, wages, and deductions.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including timely filing of tax forms.
- Data Entry: Input and update employee data, such as new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates.
- Benefits Administration: Manage payroll deductions for benefits, such as health insurance and retirement plans.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Address payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries related to payroll issues.
- Reporting: Generate payroll reports for management and finance teams, highlighting trends and potential issues.
- Audits: Assist in payroll audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- System Maintenance: Help maintain payroll software and ensure data integrity within the system.
- Policy Implementation: Stay updated on payroll policies and best practices, ensuring adherence to company policies.
