The Dispatcher position provides oversight and implementation of the day-to-day operations of the Logistics Department. Includes organization of processes to assist in efficient workflows and utilization of assets, employees, and resources. Operates as a critical link between customer (both internal and external), driver group and management. Evaluates needs with regards to sourcing, allocation and product control. Understands the business implications of the decision-making process and provides solutions to ensure high quality service.

The main responsibilities of a FUEL DISPATCHER include:

Inventory and Delivery Management

  • Monitor fuel inventory levels at both company-operated and dealer-operated sites to ensure adequate supply.
  • Schedule fuel deliveries and maintain required inventory levels across all locations.
  • Track historical fuel costs across various suppliers, regions, and product types.
  • Coordinate equipment availability and maximize fleet utilization

Order Processing and Carrier Coordination

  • Create and process orders for third-party carriers as required.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Collaborate with the dispatch team to deliver consistent and reliable results.
  • Ensure accuracy in all transactions to support downstream operational efficiency.

Problem-Solving and Process Improvement

  • Proactively identify potential issues and implement prompt solutions.
  • Analyze root causes of problems and address issues at their source.
  • Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate complexity.
  • Evaluate and resolve data integrity issues to maintain accurate records.
  • Recognize and act on inconsistencies in data or results, implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Identify driver-related issues and develop appropriate action plans.
  • Provide input on processes, procedures, and new approaches to
  • enhance operational efficiency.

Technical Knowledge and Application

  • Apply principles, concepts, theories, technologies, and standards of logistics in daily operations.
  • Develop and apply specialized knowledge within the logistics function.
  •  Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing systems, tools, and procedures to accomplish job responsibilities.
  • Maintain knowledge of system development methodology, system architecture, and analytical problem-solving techniques.
  • Establish efficient business practices leveraging available technology.
  • Stay current with related industry considerations and best practices.

Professional Development and Continuous Learning

  • Deepen knowledge through exposure to new assignments and continuous learning opportunities.
  • Build comprehensive understanding of processes, procedures, customers, and organizational structure.
  • Assist in program or process development and implementation initiatives.
  • Apply research, data gathering, analytical, and interpretation skills to logistics operations.
  • Interpret generally defined practices and methods, adapting them to specific situations as needed.

Decision-Making and Independent Judgment

  • Work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative in resolving problems and making decisions or recommendations.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment regularly in day-to-day operations.
  • Apply discretion to identify when deviation from standard practice is required without prior approval.
  • Refer to established policies and precedents as needed while maintaining flexibility.
  • Set project timeframes and priorities based on project objectives and ongoing assignments

Team Collaboration and Department Support

  • Participate actively in small to medium-sized project teams in support of interdepartmental solutions when assigned.
  • Contribute to local or business-specific engagement initiatives to support overall improvement of the logistics department.
  • Work under general direction, guided by the objectives of the area or assignment.
  • Assume responsibility for improving service, efficiency, and quality of work

To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Analytical skills with demonstrated proficiency in continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Skill Set

  • Experience with industry-specific software, including PDI, Telepoint, Motive, and DTN.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.

  • Accomplished Medical or PEME Slip (covered by KMC)
  • 2x2 & Half body picture with white background

  • Photocopy of 2 valid IDs – front & back (government-issued)
  • Clear copy of your Birth Certificate (PSA or NSO)
