The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting key Human Resources functions across recruitment and talent acquisition, compensation and benefits administration, health and safety, employee wellbeing, and HR administrative operations. The role ensures the effective delivery of end-to-end recruitment processes, accurate and compliant payroll and benefits administration, and the proper maintenance of HR systems and employee records.
In addition, the HR Generalist promotes a safe, healthy, and supportive work environment by assisting with workplace safety initiatives, employee wellbeing programs, and HR administrative coordination. The role ensures compliance with labor laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements while delivering efficient HR services that enhance the employee experience and support organizational objectives.

The main responsibilities of a HR GENERALIST 1 include:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
The HR Generalist manages the end-to-end recruitment process, including manpower requisition alignment, job posting, candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer processing, onboarding, and new hire integration. The role partners closely with hiring managers to understand staffing requirements and ensure timely and quality hiring outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from requisition to onboarding.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies through job portals, social media, referrals, recruitment partners, career fairs, and talent pools.
- Conduct initial candidate screenings and assessments to evaluate qualifications, competencies, and cultural fit.
- Coordinate interviews, assessments, candidate communications, and feedback consolidation.
- Facilitate job offers, pre-employment requirements, employment documentation, and onboarding activities.
- Ensure new hires are properly oriented on company policies, culture, and role expectations.
- Maintain accurate recruitment databases, hiring trackers, and onboarding records.
- Monitor recruitment metrics and recommend process improvements to enhance hiring efficiency.
- Support employer branding and talent attraction initiatives.
Recruitment Partnerships (Academe, Government, and External Institutions)
The HR Generalist supports talent pipeline development through partnerships with educational institutions, government agencies, and external organizations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate internship, campus recruitment, and graduate hiring programs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with schools and external recruitment partners.
- Participate in career fairs, job fairs, and recruitment events.
- Manage internship onboarding, monitoring, and completion requirements.
- Liaise with government agencies and external stakeholders on recruitment initiatives.
- Support employer branding activities within academic institutions and external communities.
II. Employee Relations and Compliance
Employee Relations
The HR Generalist serves as a key resource for employee concerns, policy guidance, workplace issues, and employee engagement initiatives while promoting a positive work environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employee concerns, inquiries, and policy clarifications.
- Monitor employee feedback and workplace trends to identify engagement and retention opportunities.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze attrition data to recommend improvement initiatives.
- Support the implementation and communication of company policies, workplace standards, and HR guidelines.
Disciplinary Management
The HR Generalist manages employee relations cases and disciplinary processes while ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Handle disciplinary cases, attendance concerns, workplace conflicts, and policy violations.
- Conduct investigations, fact-finding discussions, administrative hearings, and coaching sessions.
- Facilitate grievance handling, mediation, and conflict resolution activities.
- Maintain complete and confidential employee relations documentation.
- Prepare reports and insights on employee relations trends and disciplinary cases.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and due process requirements.
Labor Relations
The HR Generalist supports labor compliance and external labor-related matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with government agencies and labor authorities regarding labor-related concerns and compliance requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation and legal compliance for labor cases and regulatory matters.
- Monitor labor law updates and recommend necessary policy enhancements.
- Promote fairness, consistency, and professionalism in all labor and employee relations activities.
III. Employee Engagement and Culture
Employee Engagement
The HR Generalist supports initiatives that strengthen employee morale, engagement, collaboration, and workplace culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, coordinate, and implement employee engagement programs and activities.
- Organize team-building activities, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, town halls, and employee events.
- Maintain annual engagement calendars and ensure timely execution of activities.
- Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to align engagement initiatives with organizational goals.
- Support internal communications related to employee programs and company events.
- Manage event logistics, vendor coordination, budget monitoring, and post-event evaluations.
- Monitor participation and satisfaction levels and recommend continuous improvements.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
The HR Generalist leads and coordinates CSR and community engagement initiatives aligned with company values.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and execute CSR programs, volunteer activities, and community outreach initiatives.
- Encourage employee participation in volunteerism, sustainability, and social impact programs.
- Coordinate with external partners, vendors, and community organizations to ensure successful program implementation.
IV. Performance Management
The HR Generalist supports the administration and implementation of the company's performance management framework to drive employee development and organizational effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the performance management cycle, including goal setting, performance reviews, and evaluations.
- Coordinate performance review timelines and ensure compliance with established schedules.
- Assist managers and employees in completing performance-related documentation.
- Monitor performance objectives, KPIs, and development plans in coordination with business leaders.
- Maintain accurate and confidential performance records.
- Consolidate performance results and prepare management reports.
- Support the administration of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) when necessary.
- Ensure consistent application of performance management policies and guidelines.
- Provide administrative support during calibration sessions and performance discussions.
To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or similar multi-functional HR role, preferably within startup, technology, BPO, or fast-paced operational environments.
- Proven experience in end-to-end Talent Acquisition, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, onboarding, and recruitment process administration.
- Strong background in Employee Relations and Compliance, including employee case management, disciplinary processes, grievance handling, conflict resolution, and policy implementation.
- Working knowledge of Philippine labor laws, government regulations, and HR compliance requirements, with the ability to apply them effectively in daily HR operations.
- Experience in planning and supporting employee engagement, culture-building, recognition, wellness, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.
- Exposure to performance management processes, including performance reviews, KPI monitoring, performance documentation, and performance cycle administration.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret HR data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential employee and organizational information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and HR functions simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
