The role of an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Lead is critical in promoting a safe and healthy work environment within an organization. The OSH Lead assists the OSH Heads for developing and implementing occupational safety and health programs and policies. The primary objective is to prevent workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses by identifying and mitigating potential hazards and risks.

The main responsibilities of a OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY LEAD include:

NURSING DUTIES:

  • With critical medical thinking skills and good bedside manner
  • Provide basic health care administering first aid where needed and evaluating employees’ 
    overall health.
  • Attend to and follow up all medical-related concerns.
  • Administer first aid / nursing intervention to employees.
  • Assist patient to nearest hospital due to emergency.
  • Clinic and supplies management.
  • Monthly medical supplies disbursement, inventory & requisition.
  • Aid in medical events and activities
  • Administer first aid / nursing intervention to employees and members.
  • Medical Certificate validation
  • Monitor and update all clinic tracker
  • Safekeep medical records
  • Aid in medical events and activities
  • Ensures the dissemination of health-related bulletin monthly and OSH Newsletter. 
  • Other adhoc tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

 

OFFICE HEALTH AND SAFETY:

  • Ensures compliance with relevant occupational safety and health regulations, standards, and legal requirements set forth by local, national, and international authorities. This includes staying up to date with any changes or updates to these regulations.
  • Assists the OSH Heads in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures is a vital aspect of the OSH Lead's role. 
  • Assists the OSH Heads in creating guidelines that help employees understand how to work safely and respond appropriately in emergency situations. 
  • Regular workplace inspections and safety audits are performed to ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborates with other debarments in the suitability and proper usage of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensures their availability to employees as needed. 
  • Works closely with the OSH Heads, management, department heads, and employee representatives to garner support for safety initiatives, communicate safety-related updates, and ensure cooperation across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze OSH data and trends to identify patterns, areas of concern, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure employee safety training, classroom lectures, demos, and hands-on instruction.
  • Incident investigation and reporting 
  • Assists the OSH heads in risk assessment and hazard identification.
  • Ensures all OSH-related trackers are accurate and updated across all sites. 
  • Assign responsibilities and update safety organizational charts as needed.

 

GENERAL ADMIN:

  • Attends ticket requests.
  • Ensures no ticket SLA breach.
  • Follows operational processes and procedures.
  • Enforces house rules and security policy.
  • Ensures that OSH and DOLE permits are posted and updated.
  • Consolidate and generate weekly and monthly clinic and OSH reports.

 

LEADERSHIP:

  • Responsible for managing a team.
  • Keeps team motivated and provides guidance to team members.
  • Keeps team focused and on track for the immediate tasks/projects
  • Monitors team’s performance
  • Provides immediate resolution.
  • Timely responds to minor OSH concerns and escalations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Active PRC license, with clinical or bedside experience
  • Preferably BOSH trained and First Aid trained
  • At least 3 years of work experience as a Clinical Nurse
  • With background experience on handling a team
  • Proficient in Powerbi application
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, office 365)

  • Employee Wellness Advocacy: Advocating for employee well-being by providing health education, promoting healthy lifestyle choices, and fostering a culture of wellness within the organization.
  • Efficient Health Monitoring: Implementing efficient health monitoring systems to track and manage employee health trends, enabling early detection of potential health issues and prompt intervention.
  • On-Site and Off-Site Availability: Providing on-site availability for immediate response to health emergencies, timely health assessments, and quick access to medical assistance, enhancing employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborative Approach: Collaborating with employers, HR departments, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive health and safety strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Specialized Training: Offering specialized health talks for employees and management on various health and safety topics, empowering them to take proactive measures to maintain a healthy work environment.
  • Evidence-Based Practice: Implementing evidence-based practice guidelines and staying updated with the latest research and developments in occupational health to deliver high-quality and effective healthcare services.

  • Accomplished Medical or PEME Slip (covered by KMC)
  • 2x2 & Half body picture with white background
  • Proof of government numbers (TIN, SSS, Pag-ibig, & Philhealth)
  • Photocopy of 2 valid IDs – front & back (government-issued)
  • Clear copy of your Birth Certificate (PSA or NSO)
