As a Regulatory Compliance Manager at Via, you will monitor and assess compliance with regulatory requirements, compliance policies and procedures, conduct or escalate  risk assessments and facilitate responses to audits. Working in close coordination with in-house legal counsel, you will apply for regulatory licenses and permits, support the preparation of compliance reports and regulatory submissions, collaborate with other departments to address compliance issues, and provide training and support to staff on compliance matters.

In this role, you will also utilize legal AI and language learning models to help scale compliance tasks, ensuring our solutions are both locally compliant and globally scalable. The Regulatory Compliance team identifies, measures, monitors, and reports risks and exposures connected to Via’s Software as a Service (“SaaS”) and Transportation as a Service (“TaaS”) services.

The main responsibilities of a REGULATORY COMPLIANCE MANAGER include:

      Support Via’s work with regulatory bodies under direction from in-house legal counsel, including organizing and submitting necessary documentation for license and permit applications, renewals, inspections, audits, and submissions. Track and project manage deadlines.

      Identify and assess regulatory risks, conduct regular internal audits, and develop remediation plans if there are compliance or admin errors.

      Leverage legal AI frameworks to identify, measure, monitor, manage, report, on operational risk, especially in our transit services.

      Assist in identifying, escalating, and helping to resolve potential compliance violations in partnership with the Legal team.

      Support the preparation of regulatory submissions in coordination with legal counsel. 

      Develop and conduct training sessions to educate employees on compliance requirements and foster a culture of integrity.

      Provide ongoing support to staff on compliance matters and collaborate with other departments to address compliance issues as they arise.

To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:

      Bachelor's degree required; Law degree (e.g., J.D., LL.B., or equivalent) is preferred but not required. An M.B.A. is also a plus.

      Minimum of four years of experience in compliance, litigation or legal operations.

      Strong project management skills with a proven ability to lead high-priority workstreams from conception to positive execution non-negotiable

      Experience conducting internal audits and executing third-party risk management preference

      Analytical rigor and a data-driven approach to risk management; you can leverage analytics to measure the compliance program and identify trends.

      Knowledge of Tableau or other data software is a plus, but not required.

      Excellent oral, written, critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational and interpersonal skills.

      MS Excel, google suite. Advanced such as pivot, some formulas

      Demonstrated knowledge of the transportation industry is preferred.

The successful candidate must submit the following pre-employment requirements

  • Scanned copy of valid NBI Clearance
  • Accomplished Medical or PEME Slip (covered by KMC)
  • 2x2 & Half body picture with white background
  • Proof of government numbers (TIN, SSS, Pag-ibig, & Philhealth)
  • Photocopy of 2 valid IDs – front & back (government-issued)
  • Clear copy of your Birth Certificate (PSA or NSO)
  • Accomplished HR Forms & Promissory Note (will be provided by KMC’s Onboarding Team
