The Senior GL Accountant plays a key role in managing and supporting the monthly close activities for international subsidiaries, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of journal entries across all General Ledger (GL) areas. This role is responsible for reviewing and preparing monthly account reconciliations, maintaining compliance with US GAAP and local accounting standards, and ensuring internal policy adherence.

The position requires strong analytical skills to verify account balances, classifications, and provide recommendations to correct discrepancies. The Senior GL Accountant also supports statutory audits by preparing required GL data, assists in payroll, compliance, and management reporting for international entities, and manages inter/intra-company reconciliations and VAT/GST declarations.

Additionally, this role will participate in systems and process improvement projects and may provide guidance or oversight to GL Accountants as needed. A successful candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to contribute to continuous improvements in accounting processes and controls.

The main responsibilities of a ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR include:

  • Support monthly closing activities for international subsidiaries by reviewing and verifying the accuracy and completeness of journal entries for all GL areas

  • Review monthly reconciliations for GL accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

  • Perform and take full ownership of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for GL accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies

  • Review and verify accuracy of account balances and classifications; Analyzes changes in the balance sheet and income statement accounts and makes recommendations to correct errors as appropriate.

  • Assist with all international entities’ accounting matters (US GAAP and local GAAP), month-end close, payroll, compliance, and management reporting

  • Supports statutory audits and provides data from GL required during audit field works such as account analysis, sample requests and additional audit requests

  • Review the various supporting schedules and analyses for internal financial, external financial, tax, audit, and examination processes, including audited financial statement prepared by the GL Accountant

  • Assist with managing monthly inter and intra-company reconciliations and settlements

  • Review with foreign subsidiaries VAT/GST declarations and reconciliations

  • Document internal processes/controls as well as identify actionable insights and suggest recommendations to address issues and improve accounting processes/efficiencies

  • Assist with projects such as system implementations and process improvements as aligned with Headquarters

  • Provides assistance or oversight to GL Accountant as needed 

To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and fnance

  • Thorough understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Minimum of 4 years related work experience within International environments

  • Experience with Oracle ERP is a plus

  • Advanced MS Excel or google sheet skills

  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

  • Ability to multi-task, stay organized and prioritize deadlines in fast paced and continuously changing environment

  • Excellent English communication skills

  • Comfortable working variable times to support Zoom’s global regions, mainly EMEA time zone
