The main responsibilities of a STAFF ACCOUNTANT include:
Multi-Company Accounting (Three Startups)
- Own day-to-day QuickBooks Online accounting for three startup companies, ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent financial records across entities.
- Manage multiple ledgers while maintaining clarity, organization, and strong internal controls.
Financial Record Maintenance
- Record and reconcile transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, keeping audit-ready records at all times.
Financial Statements & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
- Analyze trends, variances, and discrepancies, and clearly communicate insights to leadership.
Reporting & Planning
- Produce recurring and ad-hoc financial reports for leadership.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial projections to guide decision-making in a startup environment.
Compliance & Audit Support
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Assist with audit preparation and stay current on evolving accounting standards.
Systems & Process Setup
- Set up and manage QuickBooks Online accounts, including building and maintaining proper charts of accounts from scratch.
- Leverage QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Expensify to streamline AP, expense reporting, and payment workflows.
- Continuously improve processes to support scaling operations.
Collaboration
- Work closely with founders, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Be comfortable operating in a hands-on, fast-moving startup environment where priorities evolve.
To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5+ years of hands-on, day-to-day accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Expensify
- Proven experience setting up accounting systems and charts of accounts
- Must be comfortable working in a small, entrepreneurial startup environment
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities across companies

- Accomplished Medical or PEME Slip (covered by KMC)

- Photocopy of 2 valid IDs – front & back (government-issued)
- Clear copy of your Birth Certificate (PSA or NSO)
- Accomplished HR Forms & Promissory Note (will be provided by KMC’s Onboarding Team
